       -All the overdue book parody.

Using videos would be a wonderful way in promoting my library. After watching many of the YouTube videos from other libraries i found that there are many ways to use videos. Some videos are tutorial which i think would be great not only for students but for parents and staff. Another creative way is taking the ideas from the BBM YouTube page and creating fun parody's for the library. The librarian included the students in the videos which i think is a wonderful idea and he included songs that were popular at the time. Students would love watching the videos and it would also benefit the library by reminding students to return books.

Book Trailer
for

Six Dots: A Story of Young Louis Braille

I created this book trailer using Animoto. It was a very simple and easy way to create a book trailer. This would be great for gauging interest in a books and gaining students interest on feature books.

Louis Braille was just five years old when he lost his sight. He was a clever boy, determined to live like everyone else, and what he wanted more than anything was to be able to read. Even at the school for the blind in Paris, there were no books for him. And so he invented his own alphabet -- a whole new system for writing that could be read by touch. A system so ingenious that it is still used by the blind community today.

QR codes can be used in a variety of ways. Some of the way include creating QR codes for book trailers to get students interested in features books. QR codes can be used to simplify research projects and other activities that take place in the library. They could be included in newsletters that go home to parents and include links to resources, information and videos. QR codes can help provide support to Struggling Readers

  1. Amanda,
Your book trailer was an excellent example to show us and students that book trailers are not only for fictional works but also for nonfiction. Excellent work!

  2. Amanda,
Great book trailer! I also chose the video from Pikesville High School. I thought this was a great way to get students involved in sharing and creating videos for their peers on important information like FASFA applications.

  3. Amanda,

I also chose the EBSCOHOST Youtube video because it was the most helpful for students and the Tiger Visits the library Youtube video had positive energy and was attention grabbing. Great minds think alike! Your book trailer was great!
