Screencast and Instagram

Using Screencast O matic was very simple and easy to use. The features were very basic that anyone could them. I chose to teach students how to do a simple search in school database for books that they are searching. If you want to edit the video you would need to upgrade to a paid version, but I didn’t feel the need to edit. Using screencast would be great for me to showcase web page and how to use them or I could even have students create their own screen cast. Student could create a screencast on different countries and their traditions and present their screencast to other students. Students could create how to tutorial using screencast and so much more! I was able to upload my screencast to my Youtube account very easily. The link to the Youtube video is below.

Below are my two Instagram post. The first is a few books i love to read in the fall and i use Pic Collage to display the book covers. This would be great for my students and parents. I could showcase books that are in the library. Its basically an online book display!! Students could view these books and then come into the library to check out the books. Instagram post could be used in a variety of way. Here are some of the way i could use it in my library:

After using each app, it was actually quite difficult to choose but ultimately i really enjoyed using Screen O matic. It was very simple to use but i feel would highly benefit students, teachers and parents. I think being able to post how to videos on YouTube where teachers, parents, and students could access online would help by guiding them to access resources. All these apps had wonderful qualities but using this screen cast showcases exactly how to use these resources and because of that i would definitely choose this over the other two.
I love your fall book promotion post in Instagram! You have some great ideas on how to incorporate Instagram in the library.
ReplyDeleteI too also had difficulty deciding. I'm not a fan of picking and choosing over tools because it's like picking my favorite type of ice cream. They're all my favorite of course! Great ideas on showcasing your library through these digital tools.
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of using screencasts to film tutorials. I can see how that could lend itself to so many subject areas. I need to utilize Instagram more and really like how you use it to showcase a book of the day.
