Final Reflection

Image
Final Reflection I consider myself a tech savvy person but to be honest I struggled on a few assignments. It was interesting to learn about the applications and resources I can use in my future library. The applications that excited me the most would definitely have to be screencast and comics. Although I enjoyed all of the applications these two were new to me, which excited me. Learning about creating a screencast was easy and I learned so many ways to use the application in my library. Screencast is a great way to showcase web pages and it was great to learn how easy it would be to use screencast to engage students by having them create their own screencast. Learning about the comics I found to be very interesting, I had never created an online comic and loved that it could be used to in a variety of ways. The most difficult for me would have to be using easel.ly to create an infographic. I usually use Piktochart, but my partner and I decided to use easel.ly because we coul...

Podcast

🅟🅞🅓🅒🅐🅢🅣🅢 Soundcloud: This app was very user friendly and easy to use. I signed up using my Google account and within minutes i created an account. This app does not have a recording device so you must upload a recording. I used my built in recording app on my computer and uploaded it using the drop menu.  Soundcloud allowed me to upload an image so that student’s could easily identify the correct recording. My recording was inferences and making connections to inferences. Soundcloud also allows you to follow others and sort your collections into playlists, albums and stations. There are two upgraded options. Soundcloud Go is 4.99 a month and Soundcloud Go + is 9.99 a month.  I chose Soundcloud. I enjoyed using the app and felt it was the easiest to use. Here is my Soundcloud podcast.  Podomatic: This app was overall easy to use. Users are allowed to create their own URLs as long as it is available. After uploading my recording, i was ta...

ℂ𝕒𝕣𝕥𝕠𝕠𝕟𝕤 𝕒𝕟𝕕 ℂ𝕠𝕞𝕚𝕔𝕤 T̳o̳o̳n̳D̳o̳o̳ ToonDoo is pretty simple app to use. To begin you must create a free account. I began first by selecting a background, which it had a variety to choose from. Then i was able to choose my characters. It included categories from famous people to unusual. There is a feature that allow you to add items or clip art into your scene. All the items added can be manipulated including resizing, turning, flipping, changing where the item is located and changed it's color. You are able to type in to thought or speaking bubbles. I enjoyed that you are able to manipulate every item on the comic strip. One of the downsides i found while using this app include not being able to save my comic strip. I decided to save a screenshot of the comic strip due to having difficulty saving it. P̳i̳x̳t̳o̳n̳ The Pixton graphics were very nice and had a professional feel compareed to ToonDoo. This one had many other features ToonDoo did not. I...

Screencast and Instagram

Image
╰☆☆ 𝕊𝕔𝕣𝕖𝕖𝕟𝕔𝕒𝕤𝕥 ☆☆╮ Using Screencast O matic was very simple and easy to use. The features were very basic that anyone could them.     I chose to teach students how to do a simple search in school database for books that they are searching. If you want to edit the video you would need to upgrade to a paid version, but I didn’t feel the need to edit. Using screencast would be great for me to showcase web page and how to use them or I could even have students create their own screen cast. Student could create a screencast on different countries and their traditions and present their screencast to other students. Students could create how to tutorial using screencast and so much more! I was able to upload my screencast to my Youtube account very easily. The link to the Youtube video is below.            ╰☆☆ 𝕀𝕟𝕤𝕥𝕒𝕘𝕣𝕒𝕞 ☆☆╮ Below are my two Instagram post. The first i...

Infographics

Image
Diana Laufenberg states, “Infographics work in the classroom because they grab students and allow an entry point to learning” and “allows us to focus on the information that’s important” (Schulten, 2010). I thought about this and realized that even myself as an educator would rather read an infographic of information rather than an entire article on data. Infographic are visually appealing while still depicting the important information. Therefore, letting student create them would be a wonderful learning experience. Infogram                                       Pros o    The layout was easy to use and provided animation features. o    The infographic could be widened if needed. o    There were free templates to use. o    You can embed videos from YouTube Cons o    Provided Few free images/icons which makes it less vi...
